Biography

Dr. Avsar graduated from Istanbul University in 2006 with a BA in Economics and earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Florida International University (FIU) in 2011. He worked as a Teaching Assistant from 2006 to 2008, and as a lecturer from 2008 to 2011 at FIU. He was a visiting scholar in Deakin University (Australia) in 2008 and in University of California San Diego in 2010. Between 2011 and 2016, Dr. Avsar worked as the Chair of the Economics Department at Antalya International University (Turkey). Before joining College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi as Associate Professor of Economics in 2017, Dr. Avsar was a faculty member at Montana State University.
